Abstract

1,196,795. Branch cutter. H. P. BURMAN Ltd. 18 July, 1967 [20 July, 1966], No. 32859/67. Heading A1E. [Also in Division B4] A branch cutter comprises a secateur, having a pair of blades 29 and 30 each connected to an arm 11 and 12, which is pneumatically operated by a piston and cylinder arrangement 17 mounted between the arms and which is connected by a tubular member to a handle 16 which has a valve 18 for controlling the pneumatic operation of the secateur. The valve has a slide so that in one position the compressed air supply (connected by tube 22) is connected to the piston and cylinder arrangement 17 so operating the secateur and in another position the piston and cylinder arrangement is connected to the atmosphere so allowing the compressed air to escape and spring 32 then returns the secateur to the open position.
