Abstract
594,150. Compressed air engines. BAUMGARTNER, H. March 13, 1945, No. 6289. [Classes 122 (ii) and 122 (iii)] The pistons 10 11 of a windscreen wiper oscillate a disc va ve 31 controlling air supply to reciprocate a distributing valve 16 for the air supply to the pistons. A rack 8 between the pistons drives a segment 7 on the wiper shaft carrying adjustable tappets 47 which engage a projection 46 on the disc valve to move it at the eno of the piston stroke and so reverse the valve 16. A throttle valve 21 is, provided in the air supply to the oscillating valve. The wiper may be oscillated by a hand lever 6a. In a modification, Fig. 10, the valve 31 is oscillated by the segmental end 59 of a sleeve 58 which is angularly adjustable and secured to the wiper shaft.
