Abstract
642,287. Coupling elements. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO., Ltd. July 1, 1948, No. 17732. [Class 80(ii)] [Also in Groups XXII, XXV and XXVI] In a connection of spigotted components of a multi-stage compressor rotor body, an annular recess, or a number of recesses on a circular line, is provided in the circumference of at least one component, the recess or recesses containing means to bolt the component to an adjacent component and being closed by rotor blades. Two parts 1, 1a of a compressor rotor, Fig. 1, are joined by bolts 5a which enter into recesses 6, 6a and carry castellated nuts 7, 7c. The recesses 6, 6a are then closed by blades 8, 8a. In Fig. 2, a hollow conical stud 5b is screwed into a part 2 and passes through a conical clearance hole in a part 1. The stud may be of the normal type. A means for locking the nuts is described (see Group XXV).
