[Class 8 (ii)] [Also in Group XXVI] A turbine for driving a hand-carried grinding or other tool comprises a casing with a single jet 12 and a rotor having drilled passages 6, 7, 8. The bores 7 which are inclined to both radial and axial directions open to one face of the rotor. The air discharged from the bores 7 passes the ballbearings supporting the tool spindle by way of inclined grooves cut in the spindle and, being discharged in the direction of the tool, blows away the products of the grinding. The rotor may be made of an artificial resin with or without linen reinforcement.
