Abstract
604,730. Turbine and like rotors. SULZER FRERES SOC. ANON. Dec. 3, 1945, No. 32615. Convention date, March 3. [Classes 110 (i) and 110 (iii)] A turbine rotor disc 1, Fig. 1, is formed with a boss 2 and the hollow shaft 5, which is centred by a shoulder 6, is secured to it by a bolt 4. The bolt is pre-stressed up to half its yield point stress by means of the nut 8. The hub has a substantial cavity 3 to give the disc radial flexibility. The left side of a helicocentrifugal compressor rotor 34, Fig. 2, is provided with a shaft 21 in a similar way except that the bolt 17 has screw threads 16, 18 of different pitches and the bolt is pre-stressed by turning the bolt in the screwed necks of the shaft and the boss. The right side has a shaft 29 secured by a differentially threaded bolt 27 but there is an intermediate bladed body 24.
