Abstract
641,153. Plate heat-exchangers. AKTIEBOLAGET ROSENBLADS PATENTER. Aug. 26, 1948, No. 22476. Drawings to Specification. [Class 64(iii)] [Also in Group XVIII] A heat exchanger provided with means for removing scale (see Group XVIII) comprises a number of parallel plates 'the longitudinal edges of which are joined to form passages open at the top and bottom only. The upper and lower edges of the plates are of inverted V-shape, a semicylindrical cover closing the top and bottom of the apparatus and contacting the apex of the V. The passages are closed alternately at opposite angle edges both top and bottom as by welding so that a fluid delivered to the space between the top cover and one set of angle edges of the plates flows down one series of alternate passages, and a second fluid delivered under the other half of the cover flows down the other. In use vapour and a scaleforming liquid flow in opposite directions, and means are provided for recirculating 'the condensate and re-introducing it into the apparatus in sub-divided form, e.g. by spraying.
