Abstract
639,507. Windows. BRAYBROOK, V. W. Aug. 6, 1948, No. 20786. [Class 20 (iii)] To facilitate the removal, reversal and replacement of the inner pane of double glazing, e.g. where such pane is held by a fillet as described in Specification 588,804, a telescopically-adjustable frame 10, 20, Fig. 2, is removably pivoted at the top and bottom 30 of one vertical edge to the inside of the stationary frame 31 of the window. The overhanging top bar 11 of the portion 10 and the sill 21 of the portion 20 are provided with inwardly facing grooves which are the same distance apart as the grooves formed by the fillets fixing the inner pane. On opening the casement 41, Fig. 4, removing the vertical fillet and swinging the frame 10, 20 in the opposite direction into alignment with the casement, the grooves are now in alignment so that the inner pane 40 can be slid into the frame. The frame is now removed and pivoted about its other vertical edge thus reversing the pane which may now be slid back into the casement. Cleaning of the inner faces of the double glazing is thus facilitated. The frame can be used with double-glazed stationary sashes.
