Abstract

493,377. Casement windows. BROADBENT & SONS, Ltd., and PARKIN, S. F. April 6, 1937, No. 9831. [Class 20 (iii)] The frame members of a hinged window, or the like, are formed with projecting beads K, G, J, H, which respectively engage in grooves C, B, D, in the swinging stile and top and bottom rails of the sash, and in a rabbet E in the hinged stile; and the outer transverse surface of the hanging jamb T is formed with a rib M which engages in a groove N in the adjacent sash stile W. Drainage grooves O, P, are provided in the opposed faces of the sash and frame members along the top and closing sides of the window, and interengaging stepped portions Q, R, are formed in the sill and lower sash rail. The transverse contacting surfaces of the sash and frame members are bevelled.
