522,878. Draught-excluding strips. PERCIVAL. S. (Chamberlin Metal Weatherstrip Co.). March 10, 1939, No. 7810. [Class 20(iii)] A metal draught-excluding strip for hinged or sliding doors or windows is provided with two portions 3, 8, which are sprung into grooves in the door, window, or the frame thereof, and with a resilient weather-excluding portion 5. The strip is shown applied to the lower rail 16 of the lower sash of a double-hung sliding window, with the portion 5 in engagement with the window sill. Similar strips are applied to the sides of the sashes, the resilient portion bearing against mouldings on the fixed window frame, and further strips are fitted to the upper and lower rails of the upper sash. The strip on the lower rail of the upper sash engages with the upper rail of the lower sash when the two sashes are closed.
