Abstract

638,043. Sun-blinds. HARRIS & SHELDON, Ltd., and MEYERS, P. Feb. 13, 1948, No. 4191. [Class 20 (iii)] A sun-blind 1 having a valance 3 is held as shown in an extended position by side arms 2 attached to a spring controlled roller 4' mounted between and movable with the side arms 2 so that the valance 3 is unwound or wound up with the blind when the side-arms 2 are lowered or raised respectively. The top edge la of the blind is secured within a casing 15 provided with a pivoted flap 19 which closes the casing when the blind is fully wound up. The,roller 4 is mounted as shown in Fig. 5 on a rod 9 which extends between the side arms 2a and is non-rotatably secured in end-bosses 5, the spring 14 being secured at one end to the rod .9 and at the other end to the roller 4.
