Abstract

1,012,642. Roller blinds. WILLIAMS & WILLIAMS Ltd. June 18, 1963 [March 21, 1962], No. 10856/62. Heading A4B. A roller blind assembly comprises a casing 10 mounted above a window and having vertical walls 11, 12, and slots 13, 14 so a blind on a spring roller 16 can extend over one side of the window or the other through one of the slots, the roller 16 being mounted within a pivotally mounted subsidiary casing 15 formed to provide a guide slot 17. The casing 15 is formed to support a sealing strip 22 of deep pile fabric which closes the slot 13 against the entry of atmospheric air when it is not in use In a modification, Fig. 3, a continuous wire 33 passes around pulleys 31 each side of the window and each end of the enlargement 21 on the free end of the unit is secured to a wire 33 so that by turning a handle 34 the blind may be lowered as desired.
