Abstract

912,395. Roller blinds. ATELIERS DE CONSTRUCTION SCHWARTZ-HAUTMONT S.A. DES. Dec. 14, 1960 [Oct. 17, 1960], No. 43063/60. Class 20 (3). A roll-up weighted end blind has the axis of its roller 8 disposed in the plane of the glass pane 7 &c. of a window or door thereabove so that it may be unwound to extend on either side of the pane &c. according to the direction or extent that it is wound up. As shown in Fig. 2, when the blind is extended to its full length rotation of the roller by crank handle 13 in either direction will raise the weighted end 11 to one side or the other of the roller 8, stops 12 being provided to prevent the end 11 going over the top of the roller and on unwinding the end 11 is guided on to the side of the pane on which it is disposed by deflector faces 14, 14<SP>1</SP>. In the embodiment shown in Fig. 7, no stops 12 are provided, the change of side of the blind 10 being obtained by allowing the end 11 to pass over the top of the roller and fall on to the appropriate deflector face 14<SP>1</SP>. To lower the blind on the same side the prior winding up operation 1 is stopped prior to the end 11 passing over the top of the roller 8.
