Abstract

704,459. Window frames. SILENT CHANNEL CO., Ltd. Nov. 26, 1951 [Dec. 4, 1950], No. 29639/50. Class 20 (3) The channel frame 1 of a runway for a sliding window 12 accommodates a guide groove strip 2 which by means of a strip spring 9 is afforded a limited displacement to maintain it in close contact with the edges of the pane, the resilient sides of the guide strip being urged into contact with the limbs of the channel frame. The groove strip shown has a rubber coated spring steel core 4 and beaded ends 6 reinforced with wire 13, the inner faces being .lined with moquette 7 the fabric of which extends to the outer faces of the strip. The strip spring is riveted to the base of the guide strip and its bowed free ends 9' ride smoothly against the base of the frame channel. Corner angles 11 may be located in the channel.
