[Class 20 (iii)] A window construction comprises a frame 1, 2, 3, a main window member 4, 5, a spaced auxiliary window of air impervious light transmitting flexible sheet material 10 mounted to be raised and lowered into open and closed position, means 18 for rolling the auxiliary window into open position, means 22, 26 guiding the flexible sheet by contacting both faces of the sheet adjacent both edges and exerting continuous pressure on both faces to seal the side edges of the sheet, means 20, 21 for sealing the top of the sheet, and means 34 for sealing the bottom when it is in the closed position, whereby a dead air space is created between the main and auxiliary members when both are closed. The main window is sealed by resilient metal stripping 9. The roller 18 is enclosed in a case 11 with a cover 16 hinged at 17 and secured in the closed position by a snap fastener. The window 10 is sealed at the sides by sealing elements 26, 26<SP>1</SP> in guides 22 in which the bar 35 moves, the guides being adjustable in the plane of the window and connected to a support 23, 231 by slot and screw 25 as in Fig. 6, or by a screw 251 threaded in the guide as in Fig. 8. At the bottom of the window two elements 29, 30, 291, 301 or 2911, 3011 are secured together by a screw 31 31<SP>1</SP> and clamp between them the window material 10 and a strip 34 which forms a seal with the sill 2 as in Fig. 7, or as in Fig. 9 which shows also the guide rail 35<SP>11</SP> which moves in the guides 22 and the spring catch device 36 and finger piece 37.
