Abstract

660,676. Windows. ZITOMER, A. Feb. 17, 1949, No. 4371/49. Class 20(iii) The frame in which metal storm-sashes 20 slide is built up from side members 6, 8, with which the channel guides 15 for the sashes are integral, a top member 7 and an adjustable sill 26. The side and top members are all separate and may be cut to the required lengths and assembled in situ, the corners being mitred or provided with cover plates. The faces of the members 6, 7, 8 are ribbed as at 91 and a layer of caulking is inserted in the channel thus formed between the members 6, 7. 8 and the surfaces 5 to which they are applied. The channel guides 15 at one side are provided with spring-pressed plates whereby the storm sashes may be entirely removed from the frame by a sideways movement against the springs.
