Abstract

931,344. Raising devices for Venetian blinds. HUNTER DOUGLAS INTERNATIONAL CORPORATION. Jan. 23, 1960 [Jan. 21, 1961], No. 2541/61. Class 20 (3). A lift cord 3 for a Venetian blind is accommodated, as the blind is raised, in a screw-threaded groove 2 formed in the surface of roller 1 which is slidably mounted for longitudinal movement on a hexagonal actuating shaft 9. A wire spiral 4, which is secured in a block 5 attached to the blind head rail, engages in the roller groove to support the roller and to move it in the direction of its length so that the lift cord is fed into the groove as the roller is turned to raise the blind. A cord guide roller is journalled in the block which is held in situ in the headrail by a lip 13 and spring clips 16. Longitudinal movement of the roller is limited by stops 11 and 12 fitted to the shaft 9. The roller groove is sufficiently deep to receive the whole of the lift cord and the blind support and tilt tapes are looped over the outside of the roller.
