Abstract

1,155,147. Venetian blinds. B. S. O PERSSON. 27 Jan., 1967, No. 4055/67. Heading E1J. In a venetian blind in which the entire lath assembly or unit may be vertically positioned in relation to the window and relative to a head rail, the upper bar 3 of the lath assembly is provided at each end with an end fitting 12 detachable as by screw 13, and adjustable (as by marks 14, 15) which fitting two annular grooves 2, 6 adjacent each other, the bottom of the first groove 2 forming a shaft portion concentric or eccentric with the bar 3 and the bottom of the second groove 6 forming a shaft portion concentric with bar 3 and having a diametrical channel or the like and in the first groove is accommodated a first lifting cord 1 secured eccentrically of the bar 3 (i.e. by the eccentric shaft or by a spacing member on the concentric shaft), which cord on a pull operation first tilts the laths in one direction by rotating the bar 3 on which are supported by ladder tapes 17 and then the whole assembly is raised until the bar 3 reaches its highest position spaced adjacent the headrail, and in the second groove is accommodated a second lift cord 4 which passes through the diametrical channel and downward to be fixed to the lower bar of the assembly, so that as shown in Fig. 3 only the assembly lift cord 1 operates to lift or lower the whole lath assembly whereas when the diametrical channel through pulley 6 is vertical and the cord 4 is linear, the laths within the assembly may be separated or closed together in the usual manner despite the position of the unit and the tilt of the slats may be adjusted by operating cord 4. Loop 18 stops the bar 3 from being too near the head rail so as to prevent tilt of the laths.
