Abstract

1,033,766. Venetian blinds. LEVORLOR LORENTZEN Inc. Oct. 4, 1963 [Oct. 26, 1962], No. 39267/63. Heading E1J. The slats of a full-closure venetian blind have notches 38, 39 in each of their edges and the cross tapes 31 of the ladder tapes are provided with an intermediate portion 31b of reduced width, thereby forming wider end portions 31a with shoulders 35 which overlie the slats and the intermediate portion 31b lying below the slats, the end portions 31a being greater in length than the width of the slat portions below the end portions 31a. The notches 38, 39 may have a keyhole shape or a dove-tail shape with the narrower mouth in the edge of the slat. The bottoms of the notches are nearer that edge of the slat which is lowermost in the "full closure" position of the blind, than to the other edge of the slat and on this other edge there is a notch 37 which encompasses in the closed position, the pull cord 24 which passes through openings 36 aligned with the centre line of the cross tapes. The roller tilting mechanism may be as described in U.S.A. Specification 2,831,536. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 793,845.
