Abstract

1374428 Slatted blinds LOUVERDRAPE VERTICAL BLINDS Ltd 27 June 1972 [5 May 1971] 13535/71 Heading E1J A blind having a plurality of slats each suspended with its longitudinal axis vertical by a connector 15 of a respective carriage 13 slidably disposed in a guide rail 11 wherein each connector may be rotated about a vertical axis by means of an axially rotatable rod 19 extending along the rail, the rod being rotatable by means of a chain pulley 28 frictionally coupled thereto, a member (e.g. a second chain pulley) being provided on the rod 19 for rotating the rod 19 to adjust the slats. The frictional coupling comprises a spring 29 biassing the pulley 28 against a friction pad 27 on the rod 19. The rod 19 passes through worms 17 and is coupled thereto by a tongue-andgroove arrangement, the worms 17 being coupled to worm wheels 14. The carriages 13 are interconnected by strips 34. A similar rail 11 may be provided at the blind's lower end, the lower rod 19 being coupled to the top rod by said second chain. The chain 32 may be driven by an electric motor.
