Abstract

1470533 Blinds LOUVERDRAPE VERTICAL BLINDS Ltd 13 May 1975 [31 May 1974] 24342/74 Heading E1J A blind comprises vertical slats 16 suspended from mounting devices in a rail 10, a tilt rod 24 extending through the devices 13 and being rotatable to tilt the slats about their vertical axes, the rod being flexible and largely of plastics. The rail 10 may be curved. The slats are suspended by hooks 15 from respective carriages 13, a spur gear 18 on hook 15 engaging a worm 19 through which rod 24 extends, a groove 28 on the rod engaging a rib 21 in the worm. The rod is rotated by a chain 27 to tilt the slats. A cord may be attached to a leading slat whereby the slats may be drawn to the side of the aperture, carriages 13 sliding in rail 10. The rod 24 may be of extruded PVC or resin-bonded glass fibre and may have a central non-circular core 31 of steel.
