Abstract

1,007,045. Clamps. HUNTER DOUGLAS INTERNATIONAL (QUEBEC) Ltd. Jan. 14, 1963 [Jan. 13, 1962], No. 1690/63. Heading E2B. A securing device for the guide cords 3 of a Venetian blind, comprises a clamping element 4 having, arranged for free movement therein, an apertured clamping disc 16 through which the cord to be clamped is passed, the element being provided with an abutment surface 25 and a guide 17, 18 through which the cord is passed, the abutment surface being inclined to the axis of the guide so that in the clamping position the disc bears against the abutment surface and is itself inclined to the cord passing through the guide. As shown in Fig. 1 in which the clamping element 4 is located in an upper supporting channel 2 mounted on a wall 1, the element 4 is freely mounted in a tube 5 which also houses a length-compensating spring 7 for the cord 3. A similar element 4<SP>1</SP>, Fig. 3 (not shown) for the lower end of the cord 3, bears against a lower wall bracket 9 having interconnected openings 10-13 by which the cord may be adjusted laterally with respect to, the wall 1. The element 4<SP>1</SP> is enclosed in a casing 21 to simulate a knob.
