216,279. Cubitt, A. S. April 6, 1923. Adjustable supports; flexible cord supports.-A collapsable lamp tilting device adapted to tilt the lamp without materially varying its height comprises a channel or like shaped metal member 1 provided at one end with a substantially circular plate to which the lamp holder and shade are connected by the usual shade ring, a rod 3 pivotally connected to the member 1 and provided at its upper end with a twisted portion 4 for frictionally engaging the flexible leads, and an adjustable metal link 5 pivotally connected to the member 1 and to a metal slider 6 mounted so as to engage frictionally the rod 3. The twisted portion 4 may be surrounded by a rubber tube or it may be coated with a non-metallic compound. Specification 136,012 is referred to.
