[Class 36.] A device for taking up the slack of electric cables for irons &c. or for use as a shockabsorbing electric light standard consists of a steel spring-clip base, which is fitted on the edge of a table or bench and which supports a vertical tube carrying a vertical helical spring ; a second longer tube threaded at the top to receive an electric lamp-holder is mounted on the upper end of the helical spring. According to the Provisional Specification, a weighted base may be provided in place of the spring clip.
