Abstract

1294709 Lamp support FLOS SpA 3 Nov 1970 [28 Aug 1970] 52122/70 Heading F4R A lamp support assembly comprises a vertically displaceable support element 4 mounted on a taut vertical cable 1, the support element locally distorting the cable out of its axial alignment to provide a friction grip to retain the lamp at any point along the cable. The support element may be in the form of a cranked tube, as shown, the lamp 8 being fixed by an arm 9 to the displaced central portion 5 between two end portions 6 aligned with the cable axis. The lamp arm 9 allows rotation of the lamp 8 in a vertical plane, and the support element further allows rotation of the lamp in a horizontal plane. In an alternative embodiment, Fig. 3, not shown, the support element is in the form of a straight bar (15) provided with at least three hooked or annular guides (16) threaded on to the cable, one at least of these guides being out of alignment with its neighbouring guides to locally distort the cable out of its axial alignment.
