Abstract

533,128. Window blinds. McLELLAND, J. W. Oct. 12, 1939, No. 27691. [Class 20 (iii)] A blind for blacking out rooflights and windows comprises a length of cloth, paper or the like a fixed at one end by a lath c to a purlin d and at the other end to a lath e', laths e providing intermediate supports. The ends of the laths are extended beyond the blind and ride upon fixed track members f, the end lath e<SP>1</SP> having projecting nails k to prevent endwise movement of the laths. By pulling on a cord g attached to the end lath and running over pulleys i the blind is drawn up so that it hangs in folds a' substantially clear of the opening. If the angle of the rooflight is not sufficient to ensure the descent by gravity of the laths, the cord g may be extended over the lower purlin j to afford positive closing.
