Abstract

541,855. Window blinds. ABBOTT, A. H. July 18, 1940, No. 11852. [Class 20 (iii)] A blind especially for black-out purposes comprises a length of opaque fabric or stout paper 1 having secured to it at intervals transverse bars 2 through which are threaded a pair of cords 8, 9 which run over pulleys 11 in a top bar 6, through holes in the intermediate bars and are secured at 8a, 9a to a bottom bar 7. On pulling a common pull-cord 14, the lowest bar 7 and each bar 2 in turn is drawn upwards so that the blind is folded as shown in Fig. 4. When extended, the blind forms a continuous flat surface against the window or window frame.
