Application January 9, 1951, Serial No. 205,068
a device of the type which may be swung on a vertical axis away from the Window if the window be adjacent a wall, or which may be rolled in the bracket to a position adjacent a wall surface adjoining a window. i
Other and further objects of the invention will appear as the description proceeds, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, in which:
Fig. 1 is a front View of a window equipped with a bracket and traveller combination embodying the invention.
Fig. 2 is a front view in elevation of the window with the bracket withdrawn from the window area.
Fig. 3 is a front View in elevation of the Window showing the bracket and traveller in position supporting a plurality of flower pots.
Fig. 4 is a view in perspective of a roller bracket and traveller combination attached to the top portion of a window casing.
Fig. 5 is a vertical sectional View on line 5-5 of Fig. 4 taken through one of the roller brackets. Fig. 6 is a view on line 6-6 of Fig. 5.
Referring more particularly to the drawings, the numeral I refers to the bracket generally comprised of a rear vertical wall I I adapted for ,attachment to a window frame I2 by threaded means I3, and having the top and bottom members I 4 and I5, each provided with two parallel `slots as at IB to accommodate the upper rollers I1 and I8 and the lower rollers I9 and 20 which are freely rotatable on the pins 2|.
A traveller 22 is comprised of an upper bar 23 having the longitudinal slot 24 and a lower bar 25 having the longitudinal slot 26. Ihe bars 23 and 25 each have a rounded end as at 21 and at their opposite and squared ends 28 and 29 are joined and spaced by a block 30.
Each top and bottom member Il and I has a short transverse slot as at 3| to accommodate a free pin 32 which prevents-thetraveller 22 from running laterally off the roller bracket I0.
It is contemplated that the bracket I0 and traveller 22 may be used in combination at the 1 Claim. ((1211-1051) 2 top of a window frame I2 as shown in Figs. 1 and 2, with the addition of a bar element 33 subjoined to the lower bar 25 on which Venetian blinds or drapes 34 may be suspended. The blinds 35 may be attached to the depending element 33 and the drapes 34 may be secured to the upper bar 23 if desired.
It is also contemplated that the bracket I0 and the traveller 22 may be used in combination at the center of `one side of a window frame I2 as shown in Fig. 3 without the bar element 33. The upper bar 23 may then be used to support pots of flowers or other window ornaments.
In use, the traveller 22 may be withdrawn to one side of a window for cleaning of the latter without detachment of said traveller from the bracket i0, or .if the window is close to a wall, the traveller 22 `may be turned outwardly on a vertical axis formed by the pin 32.
It willbe understood that the device is capable of many modifications in structure and design, wthout departing from the spirit of the invention, within the scope of the appended claim.
Having thus described the invention, what is claimed and desired to be secured by Letters Patent of the United States, is:
In combination with a roller bracket having a pair of parallel horizontally spaced rollers in the top portion, and a pair of rollers vertically spaced below the rst rollers and adapted for attachment to a window frame, a traveller comprising two parallel slotted bars vertically spaced from each other and joined at one end and mounted to run over the lower pair of rollers and contact the upper rollers with one slotted bar thereunder, and a depending bar ailixed to said lower bar extending longitudinally thereof as a support for window coverings or the like.
