[Classes 20 (ii) and 20 (iv)] In the replacement of a ceiling by concrete beams 2 and ceiling plates 3, the ends of the beams with projecting reinforcements are embedded in a joist-like frame member 39 cast in situ against the wall and shuttering 19, 38, the beams extending into existing recesses 40 for the former beam ends. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 describes also walls and ceilings composed of concrete plates 3 and bearers 2 acting as joists or stanchions with in situ concrete enclosing reinforcement wires in the joint gaps 5, the wire also securing a wood lath 14, at the other end. The bearers may serve as rafters with the wires twisted round laths to which the tile battens are railed. For railway station roofs supported on single or double rows of columns rafters are secured to double bearerpurlins by flat iron loops and bolts passing between the bearers, this gap and a space below between two bearers forming a cross beam supporting the purlins being filled with concrete after insertion of reinforcement. The formation of girder-like members round a chimney group composed on two sides of beams similar to the members 39 and on the other sides of similar beams with bearers taking the place of the plates 19 is also described. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
