Abstract

626,535. Building blocks; walls. HOF, H. VAN T. Feb. 12, 1947, No. 4094. Convention date, Oct. 9, 1946. [Classes 20(iv) and 87(i)] [Also in Group XV] A wall consists of blocks each comprising two outer plates 3 and at least one innerplate 31 displaced relatively thereto at an angle to their edges, and posts 10 provided. with vertical ribs 11 to engage between the plates 3. In one form, the block comprises two parts joined by embedded metal ties 1, each part consisting of two relatively displaced plates 3, 3'. In another form, a toy block comprises two outer plates and a single displaced inner plate. Half blocks of triangular form are used adjacent a sloping roof. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also a block in which one part consists of three plates 3', 3", 3''' and is formed with an outer bevelled edge 19' and recesses 14 to receive connecting dowels 15. The posts 10 may be replaced by L- or other shaped corner blocks corresponding in form to the block shown in Fig. 6. The blocks shown in Fig.. 6 may be secured together by dowels engaged in holes 6. A reinforced girder, Fig. 19 (Cancelled), for a floor having slabs with cavities accommodating concrete laths fitting into recesses in the girders comprises a main portion 20 of the same cross-section as the block shown in Fig. 6, but of solid form, and integral wall blocks 22. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
