Abstract

694,341. Roofs. BLACKBURN (DUMBARTON), Ltd., and ROSS, G. S. Jan. 14, 1952 [Feb. 28, 1951], No. 4917/51. Class 20(iv). Prefabricated wooden trussed purlins, e.g. of the Warren girder type, are erected to support the roof of a building having its walls made from poured concrete, the purlins being bolted to angles 1, 5 and tie plates 8, 9 which are imbedded and anchored by rods 3, 10, or 6, 11 in the walls during pouring to project inwardly from each gableended wall and from both faces of each party wall, each plate 8, 9 being placed above an angle 1, or 5 and in the same vertical plane. The lower member 7 of each purlin is supported on the horizontal flanges of the corresponding pair of angles and is bolted together with the lower end of the respective vertical truss members 7<SP>2</SP>, or 7<SP>3</SP>, to the vertical flanges of the angles. The upper end of each vertical member is bolted with the respective end of an upper member 7<SP>1</SP> of the purlin to a plate 6, or 11. A wooden wall plate is fixed along each longitudinal wall, the roof covering comprising either panels with rafters members which are fixed to the upper members of the purlins or separate rafters which are secured to the purlins to receive a covering laid on as a separate operation.
