637,075. Electric heaters for ovens. COLEMAN. H. J. M. May 28, 1948, No. 14447. [Class 39 (iii)] [ Also in Group VI] A combined heating and steaming device for use with bakers' provers comprises a casing 1 carrying a switch 9 and partitioned to form a water container 5 with an immersion heater 4 forming a steam generator, and an air heating compartment 3 with an electric heater 2, and a wiring compartment 6, the water level being maintained constant in the container 5 by a ball cock 12 in a feed tank 11. The switch 9 has several positions in which firstly both heaters are connected in parallel, secondly the steam generator only is energized and thirdly the heaters are connected in series. Lights indicate the switch position. The heaters are controlled by a thermostat or by two adjustable controls. The apparatus may be heated by gas in case of emergency. The feed tank 11 is preferably external of the prover.
