Abstract

A system designed to cool a saucepan (6) on an electric boiling plate (1) one boiling point of the contents has been reached, employs an electric pump (5) to circulate water from a tank (4) through a cooling coil (3) under the plate, alongside the heating element (2). In another design, the saucepan is lifted by three solenoid operated pegs which passes through the plate so that cooling air can be blown through the gap underneath by a fan. In either system, cooling can be brought about by a manual or thermostatically operated switch. An automatic control system with an adjustable setting knob is shown.
