[Class 29] A boiler for absorption refrigerating machines of the continuous cycle inert gas type comprises an annular container 1, 2 in which is defined two helical paths 6, 8 for the weak and strong liquor respectively, the path 8 serving as a gas bubble pump discharging on to a domeshaped cover 4 and a heating element 12 being located in proximity to the surface of the liquid in the boiler. It is stated that a smaller supply of heat than is usual is required since the boiling takes place near the surface of the liquid, liquor from the path 8 falls on to the hot cover 4 and the descending weak liquor heats the ascending strong liquor. The helical paths are shown defined by a pipe 7 for the strong liquor. The element 12 is vertically adjustable by a knob 16 or by a bimetallic element: Insulation 17 is provided. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 states that the paths 6, 8 may be defined by helical plates, and each path may be constituted by several paths connected in parallel. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
