Steam cooking-apparatus.-Apparatus for cooking by steam comprises a container 1 having, in its base, a raised portion 2 above which is arranged a hollow member 3 so shaped and positioned that water may flow from the space 4 to the small space 9 left between the parts 2, 3. The portion 2 has a concave upper face which is heated by a burner 8 and a cover 6, enclosing the parts 2, 3 is provided. In operation, the steam generated in the space 9 heats the cooking vessel 5 placed on the member 3, and, condensing on the vessel 5 and the cover 6, is returned to the water spaces 4, 9. The cover 6 is provided with a small aperture or a safety valve 7.
