Abstract
446,121. Hot-plates. TRIPLEX FOUNDRY, Ltd., and HORRELL, C. R., Great Bridge, Staffordshire. Jan. 19, 1935, No. 1814. [Class 126] A substantially smooth-top hot-plate is formed, above each burner, with a depression within which are skeleton cooking - vessel supports h, so that there is an annular space for the escape of combustion products between the bottom of the vessel and the surface of the plate. The wall of the depression is stepped, as shown, to afford flush reception of a ring j which carries the supports h, the ring being slightly spaced from the step c by means of three ribs so as to lessen heat conduction thereto. In the centre of the depression is an aperture slightly larger than the burner surrounded by a low wall e giving a drip trough with drain hole g. The supports h stand flush with, or only slightly above, the surface of the plate a and they taper off towards their upper edges and are also notched. To minimize heating of the supports, the ring carrying them is held by a lug in a position where the supports are not directly impinged on by the burner jets.
