Abstract

807,354. Frying-apparatus. BENHAM & SONS Ltd. Aug. 7, 1957 [Aug. 10, 1956], No. 24572/56. Class 28 (1). A frying utensil 1 has a base 3 sloping downwardly towards a sump 2, and has a tray 4 mounted above the base, the tray having a plate 5 depending into the sump so as to produce a circulation path for cooking oil around the tray and the sump. The vessel is heated externally by a gas burner 8 and has external fins 7 which form paths for the hot gases between the base and an insulated wall 9. The sump 2 is unheated and is provided with a drain-plug 6.
