340,689. Refrigerating. ROOS, G., 12, Valhallavõgen, Stockholm. Nov. 5, 1929, No. 33655. [Class 29.] In an absorption machine of the continuously-acting type, a part only of the vapour produced in the generator 1 is used to raise weak liquor through the pipe 5 to the pipe 4 communicating with the absorber 8, the remainder flowing directly to the water-cooled condenser 9 through the pipe 3. The generator is heated by a burner disposed in a chimney enclosing the pipe 5. The evaporator 12 and the absorber are connected bv a pipe 14 and provided with ribs to distribute the liquid flowing into them. The absorber is also provided with a ribbed water-cooled vessel 17, the water from which flows through a jacket 21 surrounding the weak liquor pipe 4 to the condenser. The strong liquor from the absorber flows through a pipe 2 forming a heat exchanger with the pipe 4 to the generator.
