Abstract

526,977. Refrigerating. ELECTROLUX, Ltd. March 30, 1939, No. 9982. Convention date, April 7, 1938. [Class 29] Absorption systems of the continuous cycle inert gas type include a triple heat exchanger 19 for hot weak solution, cool strong solution, and hot boiler vapour'after the latter has lifted weak solution from the generator 10, which is divided into chambers 14, 15 by an apertured partition 16, is connected by a conduit 18 to one end of the triple heat exchanger and by a gaslift pipe 20 to the upper part of a circulation vessel 21. A pipe 22 connects the upper part of the vessel 21 with the upper part of one end of the heat exchanger 19, and the lower part of the vessel is connected by a conduit 23, which forms the central passage of the triple heat exchanger, with a pipe. 33 leading to the upper part of the absorber coil 29. The intermediate passage 24 of the triple heat exchanger is open at one end and forms a continuation of or is connected to the outer channel 26 of the usual liquid heat exchanger 27. Vapour expelled from solution in the generator chamber 14 together with vapour from the chamber 15 which has passed through the pipes 20, 22 enters the triple heat exchanger, bubbles through liquid in the outer passage 25 and then flows through pipe 36 to the condenser 34. Strong solution collects in a sump 31 and passes by a pipe 32 to the outer channel 26 of the liquid heat exchanger and thence to the intermediate passage 24 of the triple heat exchanger and through its open end to the chamber 14 of the generator.
