Abstract
636,686. Walls; slabs. WOOLAWAY CONSTRUCTIONS, Ltd., and HERRING, B. C. April 28, 1947, No. 11290. [Classes 20 (iv) and 87 (i)] A building construction comprises a plurality of storey-high preformed wall panels 1 located between foundation beams 4 and similar upper transom beams (not shown), each panel having a load supporting projection 6 which extends between the foundation and transom beams from a point short of the upper and lower edges of the panels as shown in Fig. 5 such that the distance W is equal to the thickness of the beams, thus allowing the interfitting of the upper and lower edges of the panels with the beams with the ends of the projections abutting the beams, the whole assembly being secured together as by bolts passing through holes 11 in the panels and through coinciding holes in the upper and lower beams. The panels at corners may have bevelled edges 10a while a gap for a door is formed by using smaller panels 3 at the desired point. The panels may be made of reinforced concrete or metal.
