Abstract
632,743. Lamp-holders. SYLVANIA ELECTRIC PRODUCTS, Inc. Aug. 6, 1947, No. 21458. Convention date, Feb. 28, 1946. [Class 38 (i)] A holder for a double-ended fluorescent lamp comprises a tubular insulating body 2, Fig. 2, having an inturned flange 14 at one end against which an insulating wafer 9 housing a contact button 10 abuts. The wafer has an aperture 31 for a pin on one end of the lamp. A spring 11 fixed at one end to a base member 13 contacts the button 10, said base member being secured in the body, with the spring slightly compressed, by a grub-screw 15. An end member 3 is secured to the body by a screw 5 which also secures the holder to a mounting bracket 4, electrical connections to the spring 11 being effected by a lead secured to a rivet 12 at the inner end thereof. Holders as above may be provided at both ends of the lamp, or alternatively one of these may be replaced by a holder, as shown in Fig. 3, wherein the spring contact 10, 11 and base 13 are replaced by fixed contacts 33, an insulating disc 26 provided with a hole 27 being mounted in front thereof.
