Abstract

628,424. Hose couplings. DUNLOP RUBBER CO., Ltd., and TREVASKIS, H. W. Sept. 2, 1947, No. 24165. [Class 99(i)] In coupling a rigid pipe 1, formed at one end with axially spaced annular corrugations 2, to a rubber &c. hose 5, which may be reinforced with fabric or wire, the hose is gripped between the corrugations by longitudinal crinkles 6 formed in, and uniformly spaced around, the periphery of the sleeve 3 which may be provided with a flange 4. In a modification, the sleeve is also crinkled between the flange 4 and the corrugation 2 remote from the pipe-end. The pipe may have more than two corrugations the sleeve being crinkled between each pair; also, a union or nozzle, formed with a tube for insertion in the hose, may be provided with an integral sleeve.
