Abstract

628,233. Condensers. FERRANTI, Ltd., and SIMSON, V. J. Sept. 25, 1947, No. 26000. [Class 37] An electrical condenser 10 of the wound type in a tubular casing 13 of insulating material has convolutions 11 forming an electrode projecting at either end. An intermediate connecting member 17 in the form of a shallow cup with perforated base 16 and serrated rim 20 is inserted at both ends and rigidly held against the convolutions by spinning-over of the end 21 of the casing. Solder is caused to flow through the perforations to make a sound connection between the cup and the electrode convolutions 11. Conductor 15 is welded to the inside of the cup. The condenser is sealed against moisture by pouring wax into the cavity 22.
