Abstract
687,463. Electric condensers. ERIE RESISTOR CORPORATION. Sept. 5, 1951 [Sept. 20, 1950], No. 20935/51. Class 37. A ceramic tube 1, Fig. 1, with external and internal coatings 3, 2 is held within a metal casing 8 by a metal clip 13, Fig. 2, which has friction connection with both the external electrode and the case, the internal electrode being connected to a lead at the top of the condenser, and the case being filled with plastic material 16. As shown in Fig. 1, the lead 6 is soldered to the internal electrode which laps over the top of the ceramic tube. The lead 6 may be encased in a metallic sleeve 17, Fig. 3, to act as a binding-post. The clip 13 may be formed from a stamping, Fig. 7, bent as shown in Figs. 8, 9. to form a cup for the condenser to be forced into the case, Figs. 4, 5, 6, not shown. The connection to the internal electrode may be made by a plug, Fig. 10, to be inserted into the ceramic tube. Specification 674,791 is referred to.
