Abstract
An alloy, suitable for use in hot-worked, welded or cast articles which in their normal use are exposed to elevated temperature, e.g. up to about 1500 DEG F., has the following composition: Cr 10.0-30.0 per cent, Co 10.0-45.0 per cent, Mo 0-7.5 per cent, W 0.5-15.0 per cent (at least 7.5 per cent of tungsten being present if molybdenum is absent), one or both of B and Al 0.01-3.0 per cent (the boron content not exceeding 1.5 per cent and the minimum aluminium content in the absence of boron being 0.5 per cent). nitrogen 0-0.25 per cent, C 0.05-1.0 per cent, Mn 0-2.0 per cent, Si 0-1.0 per cent, Fe and incidental impurities forming the remainder. The alloy may contain an aggregate proportion of 0.5-7.0 per cent of one or more of the elements Nb, Ta and Ti, the proportion of Ti not exceeding 2 per cent of the alloy. Specification 587,944 is referred to.
