Abstract
624,156. High-frequency discharge apparatus. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. July 7, 1947, No. 17883. Convention date, Oct. 31, 1942. [Class 39 (i)] In an ultra-high frequency system comprising a valve mounted inside one or more sections of rectangular wave guide, the transverse dimensions of the wave guide sections are restricted within the vicinity of the valve to compensate for its capacitance effect so that the guide has a uniform impedance along its longitudinal axis. Fig. 2 shows a plan view of an amplifier in which the wave guide has protuberances 48, 49 opposite the valve. Fig. 3 shows a cross-section of an oscillator, wherein feed-back from the anode circuit to the grid circuit is obtained by means of the probe 50. In Figs. 5 and 7 (not shown), feedback is obtained by curtailing at one end or at both ends, the member 5 which separates the two wave-guide sections. Specification 584,787 is referred to.
