429,863. Thermionic valves. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP MACHINERIEEN-EN APPARATEN FABRIEKEN MEAF, (formerly NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP MACHINERIEEN-EN APPARATEN FABRIEKEN), 30, Croeselaan, Utrecht, Holland. July 23, 1934, No. 21570. Convention date, July 21, 1933. [Class 39 (i)] A valve for generating, amplifying, or receiving ultra-short waves comprises a resonator closed on all sides by metal walls with the exception of a narrow gap. In one form the resonator consists of a Lecher system A, G comprising central cylindrical portions A1, G1, serving as grid and anode with a cathode K, and end-portions A2, G2 arranged, as shown, so as to leave only a narrow spacing between them. The right hand ends of the members may be connected to a dipole aerial and further similar oscillating units may be connected at the left-hand end.
