Abstract

420,753. Thermionic valves. HEIL, O., 41, Reinhõ³ser Landstrasse, G÷ttingen, Germany. June 6, 1933, No. 16223. Convention date, June 16, 1932. [Class 39 (i)] A valve for the production or amplification of short waves comprises an electrode between the cathode and the reflecting electrode provided with an aperture of the same shape as the cathode which is arranged in a longitudinal recess in a conducting body. In one form, the cathode is a filament 5 connected to and mounted in a recess of a bar 1. The reflecting electrode 2 is concave. The intermediate electrode is made up of two bars 3, 4 bridged by wires at their ends. A magnetic field, which may be of variable intensity, concentrates the cathode beam on the aperture.
