[Class 20(i)] A shelter of the type having spaced arched &c frames collapsable towards each other in concertina fashion has upper and lower brackets secured to the uprights of end and alternating frames, and linked by an upper series of single member tie-rods and a lower series of folding tie-rods, to sliding sleeves located on the uprights of intermediate frames. The sliding sleeves e, Fig. 1, are coupled by upper tie-rods b to the brackets d and by the lower folding tie-rods c to brackets f. The tie-rods c are tubular and in two parts pivotally coupled by forked end plugs g, Fig. 2, and a member j. Similarly coupled ridge tie-rods c<SP>1</SP> are pivoted to two-part clamping brackets n, Fig. 5, which are secured to the frame arches a by means of bolts o. Locking tubes l, Figs. 1, 2, which cover the tie-rod connections when the shelter is in an erected position, may be slid along the rods to permit concertina-like collapse of the shelter. The framework is preferably constructed of aluminium or light alloy tubing, and pivotal latches may be provided to maintain the parts of the shelter together when not in use. A tarpaulin or other covering may have one end closed and at the other door-like flaps secured by straps, buckles &c., may be provided.
