Abstract

A telescopic folding framework for use in a tent, marquee or greenhouse comprises a plurality of arch units with their free ends pivotally mounted in fulcrum brackets. The arch units are telescopically extensible in a direction away from the fulcrum brackets and also in a direction parallel to the pivotal axis. A cord passes from unit to unit to enable the structure to be pulled into the erected position. <IMAGE>

Nyion/Steel preformed 900 elbows to suit 25 mm o/d tubing: 10 off.
Fulcrum bracket press/formed/punched: 2 off.
Steel centre roll bar 2 mm tubing 25 mm o/d: 1 at 1 mtr long.
Steel centre roll bar 2 mm tubing 20 mm o/d: 1 at 1 mtr long.
Manufacture/assembly for all frames Cut tubing to length, punch fixing holes. Insert internal spring catches to tubes. Assemble uprights to Fulcrum bracket. Rivet or bolt together, fit elbows. Fit external sliding clamps to tubes. Slide telescopic tubes together. Pass running line cord through elbows. The frame is now complete, and support brackets supplied.
Alternatively frames may be supplied in kit form ready for assembly. Heavy gauge steel tubing could be used for a more robust model for industrial use, with steel winch wire used as running line.
Claims
1. A telescopic lightweight portable collapsible framework for use as portable shelters with covers, the frame being constructed of several or multiple arch units with their free ends pivotally mounted to fulcrum brackets which are connected to a central telescopic member. The arch units being made up of two side members and the top member connected by preformed elbows.
Means of retaining telescope extensions at desired height by spring loaded buttons and the position secured by tubular ring clamps. All vertical and horizontal members having inner and outer tubular extensions a running line cord passes through arch elbows and the rope being tied off at each of outermost arch unit elbows.
Angular position of the arch unit is controlled by the locking facility within the preformed elbow which retains the line cord telescopic extension of the folded frame is carried out both laterally and longitudinal prior to erection, erection being attained by pulling up and over on the top arch unit.
Simultaneous closure of extension pieces are achieved by alignment of spring ball release buttons in the collapsed position with the use of a slide bar. A doorway achieved within the erected framework by means of release pin incorporated into fulcrum bracket allows for an angular member to be moved across to the vertical adjacent to centre vertical member.
2. A framework consisting of as claimed in claim 1 wholly telescopic frame members adjoined by preformed elbows and pivoting around a centre telescopic member and adjoining brackets.
3. A framework consisting of as claimed in 1 and 2 whose upright and angular extended position is retained and locked by a running line cord and locking spring ball and whose running line support canvas between uprights when frame is erected.
4. A framework consisting of as claimed in claim 1, claim 2 and claim 3 whose folded members one on top of another facilitates alignment for release of spring ball catches simultaneously with use of a slide bracket to retract all telescopic extensions together.
5. A framework consisting of as in claim 1 the facility of a doorway achievement within the erected frame for access through cover.
6. A telescopic collapsible framework constructed and arranged as described with reference to the accompanying drawings and descriptions.
