Abstract

1495697 Escape shoots E H E GOUGH 28 Feb 1975 [29 Nov 1973] 55487/73 Heading B7J Portable escape shoot apparatus comprises a collapsible tubular rectangular frame 6 having telescopically within its upper and lower members 16, 16A, extension tubes 18 whereby the frame 6 is held, in use, against an aperture 7 in a building; and attached to the frame, by a loop 30 secured to the member 16A and by hooks or clips 32 engaging D-rings on the twopart hinged side members 10, 10A of the frame 6, a shoot 2 of flexible material and having a central panel 2A and side panels 2B. The latter panels are provided with handles 4, 4A, 4B and 4C whereby the shoot is held down to retain the frame 6 against the aperture 7. The tubes 18 are spring-urged to their extended positions and are held by a pin in their retracted positions within the upper and lower tubes 16, 16A as described with reference to Fig. 6 (not shown). The side members have central hinges, coverable by sleeves, and foldable whereby the collapsed frame assumes the position shown in Fig. 3, whereafter the flexible shoot may be wrapped thereon.
